Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) - Ayurvedic Treatment

What is Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP)?

Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) is a condition in which your immune system wrongly attacks your platelets (the blood cells that help clotting), causing dangerously low platelet counts. ITP may fluctuate—some people experience mild symptoms or even spontaneous remission, while others endure chronic, relapsing courses requiring long-term care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Ayurvedic treatment for ITP safe?

Yes, when treatment of ITP is conducted under experienced supervision- it is always safe. At Sukhayu, all herbs and procedures are monitored. We avoid aggressive detoxification if bleeding risk is high and work hand-in-hand with your hematologist.

Will Ayurveda completely cure my ITP?

We aim for remission, stability, and reduction of relapses. Some chronic ITP cases may still need conventional support, but many patients experience sustained improvement. Case studies show platelet increases under Ayurvedic treatment at Sukhayu and patients are leading the normal life.

How quickly can I expect a rise in platelet count?

There cannot be a simple generalised answer to this question, actually time varies and is different for different patients. Some patients show early stabilization in 2–4 weeks; detectable rises may appear in 1–3 months. The deeper healing takes more time.

Can I stop steroids or immunosuppressants?

No, this is not advisable to stop any medicines abruptly. At Sukhayu Ayruved we believe in integrated approach of the treatment. We may taper doses gradually in collaboration with your hematologist, but never abruptly discontinue critical medications.

Do I need to follow a special diet during Ayurveda treatment for ITP?

Absolutely. Diet is key. We prescribe a pathya diet (easy to digest, non-irritating foods), avoid excessively spicy or cold/airy foods, emphasize strengthening herbs and avoid known bleeding triggers.
