Baseline Condition

A 22-year-old female visited Sukhayu Ayurved Hospital, Jaipur, with a history of irregular menstrual cycles, acne, and weight gain over the past three years. Her menstrual periods were unpredictable — sometimes delayed for two to three months, and when they occurred, they were heavy and prolonged. She also noticed excess facial hair over her upper lip and chin, persistent acne on her cheeks and back, and hair thinning over the scalp. Over time, she gained 10 kg without any dietary changes, especially around the abdomen. Routine investigations and ultrasound confirmed polycystic ovaries with multiple small follicles along the periphery of both ovaries. Initially treated with hormonal pills and lifestyle advice, she experienced only temporary relief. The recurrence of symptoms after discontinuing medicines led her to seek a holistic and sustainable Ayurvedic solution at Sukhayu Ayurved.

Panchakarma Protocols

  • Basti Chikitsa (Kashaya Basti & Taila Basti): Detoxifying and nourishing enemas to regulate Apana Vata, improve ovulation, and restore reproductive balance.
  • Udvartana: Dry herbal powder massage to eliminate excess Kapha, improve metabolism, and aid weight management.
  • Pizhichil (Kayaseka): Medicated oil bath for systemic pacification and rejuvenation of endocrine functions.
  • Virechana (Therapeutic Purgation): Planned after the initial cleansing phase to remove Pitta and correct hormonal flow.
  • Abhyanga & Swedana: Regular medicated oil massage and steam therapy for stress relief and metabolic activation.
